This evening, our family gathered in the living room and started talking about the bread we bought today. The conversation naturally turned to numbers: “How much was the bread Mom bought?” Dad asked. Our child, eyes full of curiosity, picked up the frog-shaped abacus. Moving the colorful beads one by one, the child said, “This is 1,000 won, this is 100 won!” and counted the numbers. It may look like a simple game, but through the process of adding and subtracting on their own, the child is learning the concept of money.
